What meter to choose...

Choosing your meter can be a decision that can save you hundreds of pounds and here are a few ideas for you to ponder.

The environment the meter is in is it open to fraud and tampering if your meter is installed in an unsecure environment I personally would choose an electronic lcd electric meter they are almost tamperproof and is only a matter of securing the tails from tamper by an outsider.

The electromechanical meters are another option but there are many ways people try to tamper with these meters and should not be an option if the environment is considered unsecure.

If fitting the meter outside make sure it is in an enclosure to protect from damp and severe cold as these can affect meter operation. Never buy a meter that is not approved either Ofgem or the new approval MID, as you can not use it for billing purposes and you could lose a lot of money.
